Downtown Lexington, KY living allow gives you the great opportunity to learn what to do with a small space. Downtown Lexington is the perfect location for young professionals, University of Kentucky Students, or someone that just enjoys being in the middle of the action including night life, 15 minute drive to the airport, 15 minute drive to Keeneland, and steps away from some of the best restaurants around.
Having a small space, using mirrors helps give the illusion of a larger area. Using a large trifold mirror I created a headboard that was a statement piece of the room.
An accent wall is a perfect way to give some eye popping areas without the “stuff”. Smaller spaces can use accent walls to draw attention without having to use statement furniture that either will not fit or will clutter the space.
Translucent or glass tables helps give an open fill while also filling with furniture. The living room is a small space and by adding a glass table you can see through the table to the floor to give an illusion of a larger area without the clutter of furniture.
At home projects that give your space a warmer and more expensive feel are great touches. The picture below is a before and after of an inexpensive project I did in one afternoon. Home Depot has an array of different stick on backings that you can use for entire walls, backslashes, accents, etc. This exposed brick look helped tie in the real exposed brick throughout the unit. This also gave a more expensive feel that could increase the value if renting.
